When Sydney Sweeney stepped onto the Emmys red carpet this year, that luminous, camera-ready glow had one secret finishing touch: GlowDry Drying Powder.

When Sydney Glowed, She Glowed with GlowDry

From Perth to Hollywood, GlowDry has earned its place in pro artists’ kits. Created by Aussie founder and former spray-tan artist Fiona Dunne, GlowDry turns a great spray tan into a red-carpet finish-fast, comfortable and transfer-resistant. Sydney was sprayed by the very talented Guy Corey based in LA.

Why Pro Artists Love GlowDry

  • Instant comfort: No sticky, tacky feeling post spray tan, clients can dress straight away (yes, even couture).
  • Less transfer: Sets the tan to help reduce rub-off on clothes, bedding and car seats.
  • Photo-ready finish: A silky-soft, matte blur that looks flawless under studio lights and flash.
  • Time-efficient: Tan → powder → dress → go. Perfect for tight schedules and high-throughput salons.
  • Elevated experience: The soft, lightweight finish turns a routine service into a luxe ritual.

How to Use GlowDry in a Professional Spray-Tan

  1. Spray as usual: Even application over well-prepped skin (exfoliated + lightly moisturised dry zones).
  2. Brief set time (2–3 mins): Let the bronzer settle while you tidy your gun or remove overspray.
  3. Dust with GlowDry: Using our XL Powder Brush, apply a light veil over high-friction areas: inner elbows, behind knees, underarms, inner thighs, décolletage and neck.
  4. Dress immediately: The powder reduces stickiness and friction so garments glide on without disturbing the tan.

Artist tip: For humid rooms or quick turnarounds, add a second ultra-light pass to inner thighs, under-bust and waistline.

Pro Finishing Tip (High-Friction Hotspots)

Prioritise these zones to maximise client comfort and finish:

  • Underarms, inner elbows & behind knees
  • Inner thighs & waistline/under-bust
  • Ankles, tops of feet & neckline/collar area
  • Any area where skin touches skin or garment seams press

“GlowDry is the simplest way to lock the look, minimise transfer and keep clients comfortable - exactly what a red-carpet schedule demands.”

FAQs for Spray-Tan Artists

Will powder affect development?
No. GlowDry sits on the surface to reduce tack and friction while the active tan develops as intended.

Which tools work best?
A dense kabuki brush like our XL Powder Brush for broad areas; a smaller brush for targeted zones and contour lines.

How much should I use?
Less than you think—start with a whisper-light veil and build only where needed. The finish should feel silky, not powdery.

Home care advice for clients?
Loose, dark clothing until rinse; avoid sweat/water during development; moisturise daily post-rinse for an even fade.
