Picture it: you’re a professional spray tan artist who just applied a perfect tan to your client and paid special attention to all the tricky areas like hands, feet, elbows, and wrists. The result is a flawless, even, glowing tan — however, minutes later the client smudged their tan because they started getting dressed before their skin was completely dry. Now you scramble to try to blend the tan and dry some more. This sunless crisis could’ve been averted if you would’ve applied a GlowDry Australia Drying Powder on top of the tan. Why? Because the six-in-one product works like a protective shield to prevent smudging and tan transfer (among other things!). Check our new PRO GLOW Bundle - perfect for introducing GlowDry into your salon or spray tan business.
GlowDry Australia's Drying Powder is to be applied on top of developing sunless spray tans to dry and lock in the tan, eliminate stickiness, prevent transfer onto clothes and sheets, mask the fake tan smell, and add a bit shimmer. These powders help to make a spray tan artist’s life easier as they add a layer of security to the tan so spray tan artists can rest easy knowing if the client should sweat a little bit or sit on a leather car seat, the powder will protect it. Don’t believe us? GlowDry powders are a staple in celebrity spray tan artist and founder of Dolce Glow, Isabel Vita’s (@IsabelAlysa) spray tan kit. The artist has used the powder to lock in spray tans on celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Chrissy Teigen — just to name a few.
Here’s How Spray Tan Artists Should Apply GlowDry Powders:
After spraying your client, use your gun’s hose to dry the client for a few moments.
Then, grab your GlowDry powder of choice. If you prefer to spray the powder on your client, then from about six inches away use the GlowDry Spray Bottleand spray onto their skin starting at the neck and working your way down. After spritzing on a section, use the Body Brush to press the powder into the skin — making sure the body is fully covered. If you prefer the loose powder in a jar and a brush, then opt for the Starter Kit and dab the brush into the powder and press the brush into the client’s skin, again, starting at the neck and working your way down.
After applied, ask your client if they still feel particularly sticky anywhere and apply a bit more powder to those areas. Be sure to pay special attention to areas that are prone to stickiness like under the boobs, butt, inside of the elbows, behind the knees, and the neck and chest area. Body parts that bend are more susceptible to a smudged tan.
Finally, after the client is covered and the powder is pressed into the skin, they are free to get dressed and marvel over their fresh tan.
The powder is to stay on the skin the duration of the tan development process and only needs to be rinsed off when the clients rinses off their tan. So they can enjoy the powder’s fresh, summery fragrance and glowing shimmer while their tan develops. The results? Post-shower clients will love their even, streak-free glow and fabulous skin finish. Just like a top coat protects and perfects nail polish, GlowDry drying powder protects and perfects sunless spray tans.
